~After Karen Carpenter

Pitter, patter, splash

Wish I could push back

Take that all day nap

October sunflowers stay strong

with no sun,

but I’m ready to throw up my hands

admit the season’s won.

My stabbed backyard tree

bleeds red leaves.

No need to talk it out.

We all know what fall is really about.

  3. vivid descriptions; sad and wistful, resigned like the season; but new life is coming 🙂 we have Spring here, after a long, morose winter —

    1. Yes, indeed. The back yard one has this slit that’s all red as if it was knifed in a gang fight and is bleeding out on the lawn. It’s tragic but it’s like everybody’s just expecting it. I appreciate you reading and commenting, friend.
