I’m half in,
dangling,
always a possibility.

What will cleanse me
of filthy thoughts of you
reaching like fingertips
flushed with oils,
midnight baths
in madness?

Droopy years,
gravity sinks into me
like the rocks,
the collapsed stars.
Immunity comes
only in the spiraling
universe
of your eyes.

Sure, I will slip first,
ambivalently
abandon my point
in time and space,
having never really
committed
to being here
in the first place.

  Thanks, John. I penned this almost a decade ago. Can’t believe it. But I think that level of longing is sexy. The video was shocking to me, which I think says a lot.
