This New Year’s Eve poem will be read on the Late Night Poet’s Art of Seduction New Year’s Eve Radio Show. She’s spicy, so, digest her at your own risk.
Happy New Years!

A wine glass kiss,
delicate clink,
bubbles from a festive drink
touch lips of ballet slipper pink.
The clock strokes me evenly
a final symphony
for tonight is New Year’s Eve.
May this year end
with measured dignity.
After hours
return from steamy shower,
undressed, save for
a velvety floral bodice.
Skin a sparkler,
eyes, surprise confetti,
and we dance in remembrance,
black and white elegance.
I will trace each blossom
through the lacy night,
skate each wandering vine
to rediscover the sacred stem
climax with the countdown
3, 2, 1, I’m in.
And I am made bold
by your corseted strength in bitter cold,
so with my sturdy hoe
I’ll sow, and sow, and sow,
as the year ahead deserves
a happy resolution,
and a brand new row.
