“The Young Decadent After The Ball” Ramon Casas 1865

Mornings are cold.
Puffer jacket breaths,
visible shivering,
prayer for believers,
the death of
nighttime dreams.

Afternoons are spring.
Purifying petal pathways,
short sleeves,
chirping chatter,
cloud mountain charisma,
hope blooming.

Evenings are in-between.
Budding quiet,
stir of shapes,
streetlight snowballs,
twilight’s modern painting,
seasonal purgatory.

A year of mirror reflections–
birth, life, death, resurrection.

    1. We must have twin re-poses. I was thinking of myself, wanting to read, write, and then just needing to be still.💜 Thanks for commenting here.

    1. Thank you, Jeff. It’s been like two different clims around here lately. This cold and cautious morning and the afternoons, freakish fairytale scenes. I’m so glad you enjoyed this poem.
