By your side,
the bonds are broken.

There is mellow morning.

I’m grateful for the good
we inspire.

The colorful way our worlds collide.

Never say goodbye.

Your arms form a lifeboat
ferrying me from sea to sky.
There is no survival
if I’m not cradled inside.

Words may sink,
flimsy bobbers,
and besides,
the simpler days
seem to have expired.

My fear is not as bright
when you stand near.
Stay by me a little longer
on this smoke-filled night.

  1. I love this poem, K. Also, never heard that song before, which is delightful and pairs up with the poem really well. 👍❤️❌

    1. So true. This song was originally twice the length but cut for a rereleased version. It def. had soul, this one.

    1. Thank you kindly, John. I can honestly admit this one was inspired by my son and his persistent obsession with the titanic. I think its my favorite image in this one as well.
