Did you hear that? It’s Coffin Bell ringing in it’s Volume 6 No. 4 issue “Malicious Editions.” My horror short “Infestation” has crawled its way into this magazine, and I would be so honored if you traveled to the publication’s website to read it. Here is a taste of the story by way of found poem I created from imagery in this nightmarish tale.

Kind regards,

K.

In the Room Where You Sleep

In the room where you sleep are:

oddly shaped implements,

a taxidermied owl

oozing and raised, which

leaves animal droppings,

swollen ticks behind

a growing brood.

What takes place

behind triple-locked doors?

It’s unethical.

Rotted limbs

decomposing,

foulest soup of gray bones,

the scope of a rifle

cutting off circulation:

a new infestation.

    1. Yes, well. Mine can often be crawling with the limbs of little ones, but no biting anymore, thank goodness. Thanks so much for checking it out, John. 💜

    1. Thank you, Michele. 💜I’m glad it seems that way. 😂 I wrote this story in January, so it seems like a long time to wait to see it be shared. I am so grateful to have you as a reader and friend.

      1. You’re welcome, K. 🩷 January, wow! That took some focused imagination to put yourself in the nightmarish spirit that time of year. Impressive! 😁 Worth the wait! Thank you, I feel the same. 😊

      2. Thank you so much. I actually do a lot of writing in winter, when my littles are not in sports. The weather lends itself to blankets, couch writing sessions and chilly tales for me. 💜
