Oh, to live life labeled strange!

Play. Dive. Slide the turquoise waves.

Purify the riverbed.

Defend the home range.

Happy New Year’s Eve, friends.

I was so happy to have a bit of time today to write for TankaTuesday. The task this week to write a syllabic poem about your Native American Zodiac. I chose to craft a Dodoistu, a Japanese form of poetry that is sometimes performed as a folk song. It has 26 syllables: 7 in the first, second and third lines, and 5 in the last line. (7/7/7/5). Traditionally, this form has no title or no rhyme, but well, us Otters need free reign.
