Take the tears of a mother
walking alone
and mix them with sweat from
her buttermilk bosom,
glint of diamond slope.
Find a woman who believes she's worthy.
Repose at playa blanca
on sands of fluffy rice
and wait for moonlight to open her petals
to paradise.
In times of hurt and hardship,
sow hope.
When she cannot speak,
remain silent in solidarity,
faithful as candlelight,
mourning the songbird's notes.
When the ghost of past commitments
arises from its repose
to say, "let's keep this one secret,"
pluck a fresh bud for its buttonhole,
and perhaps a few more blooms
to send to someone close,
a bouquet of white rose.
