K.F. Hartless (she/her) is a persistent poet, free-spirited fiction writer, and word trapeze artist. Her debut novel, Fascination, is a speculative-fiction tale that explores the severe treatment of mental illness in the future city of Nuevo York.

As a traveling teacher, Katie has taught literacy and creative writing on several continents. She is passionate about the power of words and has been recently published in Horns & Rattles Press, 365tomorrows, Visual Verse, Luna Station Quarterly, and Last Girls Club.

Her blog, Yard Sale of Thoughts, blends genres and mediums to create new experiences for the reader. Displayed on her digital lawn is a smattering of old and new works. Peruse, and if you find a piece that fits your fancy, be sure to leave a comment. There is no greater currency than kindness.

The only way you can write the truth is to assume that what you set down will never be read. Not by any other person, and not even by yourself at some later date. You must see the writing as emerging like a long scroll of ink from the index finger of your right hand; you must see your left hand erasing it.

~Margaret Atwood

If you’re going to write, you have to be willing to do the equivalent of walking down a street naked. You have to be able to show too much of yourself. You have to be just a little bit more honest than you’re comfortable with…

~Neil Gaiman
