Spring tease,
she takes out her feathery blooms
wisps them across our noses
and we’re dancing to her tune,
taking off our pants before June.

Spring fling,
just a wild weekend of weather
and watery blossoms, beautiful bosoms,
her touch is honeyed heather, and
we are a garland for each other.

Spring tease,
sunshine squeezes out disease,
and the crackling snow fell overnight
curing us all of our straw hat ease.
Warm words like snowflakes, white lies, seeds –
that need more than flirting to grow among weeds.

  1. I love your structure here with the assonance at the start and the ending couplets. A spring tease indeed! 😊

    1. Thank you, Ingrid. It was a happy coincidence, but sometimes these things do happen.

  3. I really like your first stanza and the light-hearted humor in this poem. Spring brings back the playfulness in us.

Isn’t spring the biggest tease of all? But if we’re honest, isn’t it exactly what we need to feel alive? Here is a poem of mine on the season written in 2021. Enjoy!
