This poem is written for the Late Night Poets June 25th Into the Darkness Radio Show. This is an adult show, so be forewarned this poem contains adult themes. They will be recreating an old horror radio show-style atmosphere, so I recorded the poem. My first voice recording, so I thought I’d repost this so you could enjoy a glass of “The Bleakest Bordeaux.”
A braless Bordeaux
after a straight-backed day.
Maria wilted and her beauty abscised,
the petals of her blood-soaked roses
destined to wither and die.
A beardless Bordeaux,
a waiter from the Riva Rosa,
got her Cologna in his naso
escorted her home on tipsy toes;
so a terminal tryst often goes.
A benzo Bordeaux
pinched in for pleasure,
Maria never measured
milligrams of powdered treasure
blurred her form while he undressed her.
A bareback Bordeaux
lapping up the high-tide ride,
pala di casada pole stays rigid,
swirling the canals inside,
giving her the full gondola ride.
A Baudelaire Bordeaux,
forevermore drunken,
features sunken by the sloppy canal,
he swayed her sideways with forceful strokes
before his flooded heart drowned.

“Be always drunken.
Nothing else matters:
that is the only question.
If you would not feel
the horrible burden of Time
weighing on your shoulders
and crushing you to the earth,
be drunken continually.”
Baudelaire “Fleur du mal”
