This poem refused to remain in the journal, so I posted in on All-poetry. Now, it wants a feature on my blog. Jeez, it’s pushy. Also, adult in nature, just be prepared for the ride.

Gamblin’ man rode me once
never let go,
even the dice ‘caus he just new
Lucky 7’s would come when he did.
He did a lot of riding
on that spread,
made sure to cheat
painting my breasts red.
Stuck an extra jack in play
just to make certain I made it
all the way.
What a good boy!
Didn’t think I saw it all
just made me smile more
and scream for his number.
I always took great care
of his stead.
Brush’d it, petted it,
to get a sleek mane
whetted it,
but always, my Gamblin’ man
rode on.
Running circles,
placing bets on himself
he knew he’d never lose,
but still liked getting me confused.
And when I refused,
he tied me to his tail
and made me trot
upstairs again.
