Last spring, I was biking to Feringasee through fields of rapeseed and wrote a poem. Scribbled it down quickly at the offensive lake and then tumbled it a few weeks until it was smooth as a river stone. Today, I’m pleased to announce that it was published on Spillwords. I’m overjoyed to see this poem spread a wider ripple. This one really unleashes my pent-up feelings about the lockdowns here in Germany and attempts to capture the every-changing emotions of civil unrest.

    1. Never takes long for the deck of cards to rise up against the nonsensical painting of the roses red. Most things feel topsy turvy now. Social vertigo, even.

  5. It’s a great poem. I think John’s choice of the word “gritty” is apt. So much packed in! Images, three to a line. Congratulations!! As Hobbo said, well deserved!
