Mingle in Munich’s summer garden party,
tic-tac-toe moss grows on buildings
awaiting expats and oh ja’s,
blue caterpillar busses
extend and shrink through
croquet gates and castle bridges,
bikes as balls pass beneath,
pedal through the archways
alongside orange sweeper beetles
that scurry past with sponge-like feet
below circular white street light pegs
ready to be hopped off the platz.

It’s easy to get lost here
with all these gardens full of beer.

Raise a honeycomb toast!
One last Prost,
to Munich’s summer garden party.

    1. Oh well, you know this little poem of memory and fantasy lacks style, but just has lots of heart. And I was giving my editor a vacation. 😉

    1. Hope you made it there, John. This was a poem that needed a line. Found me in sleep times. Maybe now it’s done and will let me rest.

    1. Thank you, worms. I am saying goodbye to Munich, and this garden party seemed like the most appropriate way to spill over the memories.
