What possessed me

to let you take off my top,

jangle my guts around and

use various tools

to hollow me out inside

then carve a masterpiece

on the surface of my flesh?

Harvest lust?

Seasonal trust?

Too much vine?

Ah well, maybe next year, I’ll be more gourded.
