Draw a box,
hopscotch,
tippy toes,
count and hop.
This spring,
my son’s Titanic sinks
in the concrete sea.
Impressionistic flowers,
daughter’s rainbow fingers
arch with belief.
I raise my eyes from the page
watch them pick their next piece,
stories written in chalk.

  1. I’ve seen some very beautiful art done with chalk, especially sidewalk art. I like your son’s art! ☺️

    1. Thank you kindly, Marion. I like the psychology of seeing what my kids create. And, also the memories it brings back.

    1. Oh, thank you, Lisa. I wondered if I’d linked it wrong, as I didn’t see the usual kind faces. It has indeed been a busy month.
