Welcome once again to Flashback Track Friday. Each week, one of us will present a song to you, and out of that song, will prompt you with a question.
“A lot of people tell me they enjoy that album. It’s hard for me to relate to that. I mean, it, you know, people enjoying the type of pain, you know?” Bob Dylan’s response to the success of his 1975 album Blood on the Tracks, released the same year as his separation to his first wife, Sara Lowndes. As part of the divorce settlement, Lowndes went on to receive half the royalties from the songs Dylan wrote while they were married, including this week’s flashback, “Tangled up in Blue.” Talk about a serious entanglement.
