Raindrops Wink

A rainy morning means there’s a brilliant breeze here this evening, sweeping through the house and making everything feel refreshed while I tinker on a short story. Thought I’d share my morning musings. What does the rain remind you of?

through my windshield,
subtly tapping
a new pattern
to remind me
that my stories
are only written
when I take the time
to press the keys
in a never before
combination.

There is something refreshing and renewing about rain. Growing up in LA, I didn’t experience rain much, alas, there was a time in my life I didn’t enjoy it. Living in OR for over 10 years now, however, I’ve developed a new appreciation for rain, and for the subtle manifestations of possibility it brings with it.

  Thank you, John. I did at least attempt to work on it, but I must say, I’m super easily distracted after these long school days, when the children finally have their story and fall to sleep.
