Happy Friday!
Through streak-free window,
the trees attend this year’s christening.
Crisp, white blooms
remind me
it’s too soon for fiscal worrying.
Refreshed,
I lift my petaled dress
to reveal the sacred shrine,
an invitation to spring clean
my much neglected behind.
Let’s shake the house!
Make new birdsong;
Squirm through the glossing.
No need to be gentle as
as you know I like it naughty.
The carnival of colors
parades this way soon,
dingy blooms blown carelessly
off the fertile trees.
These costumes followed by
fields of green,
numb and well-groomed,
ready for summer snoozing.
But as the season calls
for elbow grease,
squirt and squeeze
as well you please,
perk the leather cushioning.
Let’s polish knobs,
dust fancy fixtures,
power wash the gutters.
But before sundown,
rotate and flip,
refresh the soiled linen
and don’t forget
to discard all the clutter
that has gotten in the way
of us loving one another.
