Happy Friday! What goes best with an old song? A new poem paired with a new artist. Let the wild rumpus start!

Born under a plenilune
with a full head of stars,
breasts that drift outwards,
orbiting lumps of matter.

Snipped from the galaxy’s womb,
first cries the final bars.
Serenade the angels trumpet–
a warbled, echoey tune.

Conceived on the move.
Warped soft spot scar
below invisible halo,
the spherical chin quivering.

Yawning black hole doom.
Flaking stardust arms,
cluster of milia,
gas hiccuping.

Fear not,
this too will pass
under a plenilune.

    1. Thank you kindly, Colleen. It was written a while back, but needed something. I saw this painting and it seemed to be the key. 💜

      1. I like how you rework your previous poems to give them new life. It’s all in the editing, isn’t it?

      2. Thank you, Colleen. Yes, I’m embracing it. I’ve always been in to recycling and upcycling, though, and I think that the yard sale mentality crosses over my to poems, stories, and characters. 💜

  2. I like the first sentence and that painting. I don’t remember that band for some reason but the song is cool! Cool under a plenilune…
