I wish for compassion. Love beyond acceptance, I wish for emptiness to be filled with gladness. I wish for hate, the stranglehold of bigotry, to be banished. I wish for more remembering, the courage to tell the stories of the lost, the histories my ancestors vanished. I wish for the disenfranchised, buried in worry, debt, or clouded in anger and madness, to find safe passage. But mostly, I hope the future gets here soon. Well-wishes from June.
