Have I mentioned I have a new short story getting published this summer? I hope you will have time to dive deep into Horns and Rattles first anthology, Fish Gather to Listen to find my tentacled tale, “Cirrata” buried inside. I’m sure the master won’t mind waiting for you…at least for a little while.

In the meantime, a little entertainment.

Underwater angel,
serenade the suffering tide
with a healing solo.

Pluck pearly strings
to blow sound bubbles
bursting with serendipity.

Her daily frequency
transforms the vibrations
of the coldest oceans,
tempts the moon
to grow full for harvest
in blackening fields of sky.

New notes that will echo
long after the coda.
A tonal massage
for the fatigued fins
of earth’s aquatic friends.

Underwater angel,
let go a sacred flow,
fingertips glissando
the gilded arch,
coloring budding coral
with each melodious arc.

    1. Thanks, John. Yes, I wondered the same thing. Trick of the camera, I suppose. I know these mermaids work on their underwater breath control and what. not. A fun allusion, anyways.

      2. Yes, I agree. If she’s faking it, she’s faking it with pizzazz. 🙂

  8. Your daily output of poetry, which also includes finding appropriate artwork and music to accompany them, is truly astonishing to me K. I can barely write 2-4 reviews per week!

    1. Yes, but your reviews are researched and revised. I just don’t overthink it. Let serendipity guide me to my words, my eyes to some art or photography, and my listening ear to a song. It’s amazing it works out ever, really. Thank you. 💜
