~After Faye Webster

Cheers to all those nights flirting,

gold and silver threads of conversation,

favors we gave to one another,

my perfect part-time lover.

We savored the slow

twirl in hay meadow,

no need for wildflower solos.

Although I’ve braided my limbs

around your hips like a garland,

and felt your manliness,

my memory is void of your kiss.

No quick fix but to grab hold

and pull me through the tangle of lust.

I trust you can undo us.

    1. Thank you, Judy. I’m sorry I missed this comment. The first week of classes here and I have been in a fog.
