We’ve had too many tries to get this right.

I can’t drag a dingy ‘cross a cloudy sky.

The pile of memories I can’t bring myself to destroy.

Another photo album shoved in the back of a drawer.

We can’t weather another all-night fight.

I’m waiting for a red morn,

a calm in the storm,

a familiar shoreline,

something to keep this boat upright.
