I do this thing at the end of the year, where I go inwards. I’ve finished over 90% of 2023, but I’m not sure I want to complete this last part. So, I head out on adventures. Listen to the music I’ve missed. Read the books that I bought but couldn’t find the time to read. My closest friends tell me I do this with a lot of things. I guess I like dragging my feet over finish lines.

I generally resurface by New Years, but if you don’t see me in the blogosphere much from now until then, know that I’m clearing my headspace and taking in several long, winter naps (various books in hand).

The happiest of holidays to each of you!

K.

I prefer to end the year

a voyeur.

Quiet is the cure.

Slip my feet in slippers

of unfelt sand,

book in hand,

a watchful wanderer.

The only way to avoid a goodbye

is to take a detour.

I’d missed this one as well. One of Pitchfork’s Top 100 of 2023.
