Waves christen the sand 
as they break:
a celebration,
a new beginning,
a sign that we're awake.

Bubbly libations
coat the hull of the dune:
a rolling affirmation,
a roaring applause,
a raucous honeymoon.

Kiss me one more time 
against the wind, I say, 
and I'll carry you with me 
all my days.
