I am delighted to announce that a short poem of mine, buried under a few months of frozen postings, has been published today in the winter edition of the modern, alliterative magazine, Frozen Ground, Regained.

I’ve included my creative musings on this publication’s title.

Kind regards,

Katie

Frozen Ground, Regained

We start out gentle, like the rain.
Two hands rubbing together,
playfully clapping,
but before long we're all slaps and bangs.

A thunderstorm of shocking things:
the bitterness of my bereavement,
hardness, and old wedding rings;
the rumble of a disagreement.

"You really make a splash!" you exclaim.
But with one toe in, I'm shivering.
Waiting for the evening's end
to hear the softening showers of spring,
for frozen ground, regained.
