Inclusion. Diversity. Equity.
Ideals can not be swept away
like fallout or debris.

Dreams sheared,
may be like dead ends, but
the future will be freed.

Equity. Inclusion. Diversity.
Ideals taken root;
we are the spawn of viridescent shoots.

Climb our forefather's branches
from this vantage,
we've gleaned a better fate.

After all, it's the
variety of bloom
that makes a bouquet great.

Diversity. Equity. Inclusion.
Ideals without severability.

Say no to monotone
thinking!

Say no to black-and-white
hate!

Without each color,
there is no rainbow;

so hold your head high and
join the parade!

For now,
a chair is empty.

Let our voices rise up
to fill the space.

  2. I like how you alternate the words along so that they change position yet maintain the same ideas. It makes a difference.

    1. Thank you, Melissa. A definite editing choice. I thought it really does make you think of the concepts a bit differently to have them read in a different order.

  6. Regardless of our current state, it’s good to know that progress has consistently been made throughout history. We are becoming a more compassionate people. It’s just that we always have to take a few steps back until we begin moving forward again.

    1. Much agreed. I’ll just cling to this cliffside a bit longer and hope I can find some footing. I sure have enjoyed the idea of reaching a summit of equality in this lifetime. 🧗
