White-haired woman
rinses donegal rocks
with wisdom and purity.

With benign expression,
she inspires reverence,
her fountains extending
to pools of clarity.

She cannot be blocked.

Her flow across the fierce terrain
bends mountainsides, but
smooths the outcrops, lovingly.

White-haired woman,
mother aging,

teach us continuity,
the endless nature of beginnings.

Teach us to accept
divine truth and
feminine wisdom,

and prepare us for the inevitable drop
that accompanies each wellspring.

Help us to fall, gracefully.

      1. I’m sorry it’s saying that but this message came through. Maybe WordPress is acting up since the updates. 💖

    2. Thank you, Julie. I took these photos at Erawan Falls, a few hours outside of Bangkok. I was ruminating on them and how the water looks like a white-haired woman, one greatly admired. I like how the piece has just a tiny bit of the place’s mysticism.

      1. It’s wonderful to think of a feminine spirit having the last word. We may have to wait awhile to hear it though. 🤍🌊
