Roads collapse, 50 meters deep,
no injuries, thank goodness,
except to our general
sense of security.

Subsidence: the shifting of
what lies beneath.
Add to our worries
soil movement and leaks.

You can lead a horse to water
but you can't make it sink.

  1. Hell, what is going on over there?

    1. So much dread, the shiver vibes are on repeat. It’s just unbelievably frightening everywhere these days, I guess. Although, I like at least the illusion of solid ground.

      1. But what happened? I’m in the US and they haven’t reported anything.

    1. Thank you kindly, John. We’re all waiting for the world to open up around here. It’s a late rainy season.

    1. It was super startling. I am also so glad that they were able to evacuate a wide enough space. As to how they were able to tell the sinkhole was happening, I have no idea.

  4. The erosion of the intellectual foundation is also scary. You and I possess more flexible poetic minds which can leap to ‘islands’ as they form and disappear, mario party style… For now at least. Most people’s cognition leads with Extraverted Thinking (Te) which quite rigid, is all about decision making based on logical, definitive schemas the mind has built up from past experience… It’s been an absurd experience watching grown men and women flounder like fish out of water as the reality that they know nothing comes crashing over them like a tidal wave. But they do not sink, they do not yield but rather cling to their false beliefs— flop on the deck like a fish…….. This has been a B-grade EF original free write😚✌️

  5. I love this free-flow. I fear I am tranforming into one of those fish, but the waters keep getting deeper, so I guess the gills are gonna come in handy. Here’s to those that float through things. 🐠🐡🌊
