Lately, I’ve had my own struggles to stay healthy, and so I’ve decided to share this image found on AllPoetry.com. The prompt: Would would Silvia Plath say? If you feel inspired, join me in penning 50 words or less to this solitary scene.
In Sickness & In Health
In sickness,
I am four walls–
naked limbs
blend to woodsy wallpaper,
bed shifts to abandoned field,
mouth to straw.
And should I make it through
my bout of plague or flu,
the reverie will dissolve.
Hair spun gold by stealth.
My firstborn promises,
prays quickly forgotten
in good health.
